The Duke Energy Center’s ballroom room was ablaze with the positive energy from the 12 finalist competing at Social Venture Partner’s Fast Pitch event. Each competitor had three minutes to deliver their fast pitch presentation, explaining their work’s mission and battling for the $15,000 grand prize.
The judges had a difficult task, as the competition was fierce and the work of each competing nonprofit is so significant to our community. It was a thrill to hear all of the pitches that highlighted the amazing work of so many individuals behind the organizations that are working each day to create positive change in the tri-state area. 1N5’s pitch, delivered by our very own Meriden McGraw hit the judges head on, highlighting the great need in our community for evidence-based mental health education and stigma reduction.
We are ecstatic to share that our pitch won First Place, receiving the grand prize of $15,000 to fund three additional high schools, educating thousands of local students, to promote optimal mental health for all.
