You deserve love and kindness, even when your brain tells you otherwise, you are deserving of good, you are deserving of peace.
Sometimes the world is unkind to us and sometimes things happen that feel overwhelming and unfair. Sometimes when we experience those overwhelming moments, our brains begin to tell us that we should have done things differently, and then that bad thing wouldn’t have happened to us. And then we in turn feel bad about ourselves and as we experience self-doubt, regret and anger with ourselves for the past, we begin to believe that we are not worthy of good. Just because you experienced something bad, just because things could have gone differently, it does not mean you are not worthy of good. In fact, if you hold on, you will experience the good on the other side of it all.
I try to remind myself that I cannot change the past, and I cannot control the future (as much as I’d love to, I can’t), but I can be in this current moment and in this current moment I can remind myself that I am worthy of love, kindness, patience, and all the good opportunities that will come my way in the future.
Whatever challenge you are going through, be kind to yourself, know you are worthy of getting to the other side and that on the other side of this struggle are all of the good things that you’ve always deserved. I am reminding myself of that as well. Don’t listen to the voice that blames the bad in your life all on you and robs you of your joy and your sense of self-worth. You are worthy and good enough as you are. You cannot change what happened to you, but you can always remind yourself that you are worthy of the good that happens next, despite the bad you’ve had in your past.
