1N5 Speaks at Conner Middle School

On March 2nd and 3rd, 1N5 spoke at assemblies for the seventh- and eighth-grade classes at Conner Middle School in Hebron, Kentucky. 1N5 discussed mental health 101 and self-care, and the students were very engaged in the presentations. As a group, they discussed ways to stop the stigma against mental health and how to care for their own mental health.

Ohio Legislature Introduces Bill to Implement Mental Health Education

On Tuesday, March 3, Representatives Tom Brinkman and Brigid Kelly introduced House Bill 532 to the Ohio Legislature. The bill, which 1N5 has been working on in conjunction with Sara Bitter, would implement standards for mental health education in Pre-K through 12th grade in the state of Ohio. On December 6th, 1N5’s Executive Director, Nancy Eigel-Miller, presented Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center with a check for $150,000. This is the final payment of a three year commitment to provide funding for CCHMC’s Adapting For Life program in area schools.
