This week for #freeyourmindfriday, Meagan Connley, a mental health advocate and eating disorder survivor, took over our Instagram stories to talk about mental health and recovery. Check out her bio below!
Last week, 1N5 shared my story of living with anxiety and having lived with depression and eating disorders. Now, I’m taking over their Insta stories to talk more about my mental health journey and where I am today.
Filming my story back in December was one of the most authentic experiences I have ever had. The release of the video last week was freeing – it has helped me feel more open, courageous, and whole. I have had many friends reach out to share their own experiences with me, building a sense of belonging between us. Knowing we are not alone is very powerful, and speaking our truth is important for releasing the hold that these mental health conditions can have over us.
I’m an introvert, a highly sensitive person, cat mom, mental health advocate, Dare to Lead trained leader, hiker, and book worm. I lead with Enneagram Type 1 (The Perfectionist or Reformer). I am learning and unlearning, and I am striving to live a more whole-hearted, authentic, #untamed life.
