School Program Manager

At 1N5, we’re on a mission to prevent suicide by transforming the conversation around mental health. We work in schools, communities, and workplaces to provide evidence-informed education, reduce stigma, advocate for better policy, and empower young people and the adults who support them.
We’re hiring a School Program Manager to help us expand our impact in schools across the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky regions. School Program Manager Requirements:
- Passion for mental health and suicide prevention education
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Confidence and poise in front of large groups and diverse audiences
- Strong work ethic, desire to learn, and ability to manage projects independently
- Ability to respond to sensitive topics with compassion and professionalism
- Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally work evenings/weekends
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and can pass a BCI/FBI background check
- Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, psychology, social work, or a related field
- Five years of experience preferred
Helpful to Have:
- Experience working in education, mental health, public health, or nonprofit spaces
- Familiarity with K–12 school systems and/or child and adolescent development
- Certification or training in prevention work (e.g., RA, OCPSA, QPR, Mental Health First Aid)
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Bilingual or multilingual
What a 1N5 School Program Manager Does:
As a School Program Manager, you’ll work directly with schools (grades K–12) to bring mental health programming to life. One day you might be facilitating a class for high school students – the next, you could be coaching elementary teachers, meeting with a group of parents in the evening, or presenting to a room of superintendents. Here’s a sample of what a week may include:
- Leading an engaging presentation on mental health to a room of middle school students.
- Meeting with district leadership to discuss partnership opportunities.
- Guiding a parent group through suicide prevention training.
- Reviewing new mental health resources to evaluate safety and impact.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development and exploring the latest research.
- Collaborating with our 1N5 team to improve programming and outreach.

Want to know what to expect ahead?
- Initial screening: Our hiring committee will review applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Candidates selected to move forward will be contacted to schedule a brief introductory call.
- Interview round: Selected candidates will meet with 1N5 team members for an in-person interview.
- Work sample: We ask finalists to bring a short (5 -10 min) sample presentation to the in-person interview. Details will be shared with candidates ahead of time.
- Final decision: References will be checked and 1N5 will make an offer to the candidate we believe is the best overall fit!
