This week for #freeyourmindfriday, Sabi, a writer, YouTuber, podcaster, and the creator of the Beautifully Broken blog, took over our Insta stories to talk about mental health! Check out her bio below!
August of 2019 I started my journey towards recovering from my mental illness that had taken over my life since the age of 13. Depression and Anxiety have always been something I have been battling. On July 4th, 2019, I had a complete breakdown and suicidal idealizations that drove me to the bottom. I had looked in the mirror and completely lost who I was. I didn’t know what was up or down, so I finally decided to reach out and get help. I was lucky to have the support of my family and boyfriend. I went to a trauma healing program where I had learned about everything that has now changed my life for the better. I finally found myself after 15 years of simply existing, and not living. I hope that through my story, experiences, and knowledge that I can inspire others to get help, become more aware of mental illness, and gain some new perspectives that may assist in the healing process of it all. Life can get chaotic, but if we have a lot more knowledge and tools to utilize to help us make those hard days just a little easier, then it’s all the more worth it. What’s the point of living if we are just staying in a shell forever and hide who we truly are instead of embracing it?
