QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Program

What is it?

Question. Persuade. Refer. It is a simple yet effective suicide prevention training program that empowers individuals to recognize the warning signs of suicide, engage in compassionate conversations, and connect those in crisis to professional help.  Anyone can learn QPR. It’s a valuable tool for schools, community organizations, workplaces, parents, and individuals.

During Mental Health Awareness Month in May, 1N5, local schools, churches, and community organizations have partnered to “BLITZ” the region with QPR training sessions.  These sessions will cover essential topics such as identifying signs of distress, understanding risk factors, and practicing active listening.  Participants will gain practical skills to intervene and support someone who may be struggling with their mental health.

These sessions will train over 600 individuals in the QPR framework, with the potential to impact hundreds more.
