Meet Carissa Parker, a senior at the Summit Country Day School who is sharing her journey of living with panic disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, depression, and experiencing self-harm and suicidal thoughts and tendencies. She recalls her panic attacks becoming an almost-daily occurrence in 7th grade, and she says it got to the point it was interfering with her life so much that she attempted suicide twice. Her parents intervened, and she began seeing a psychiatrist and therapist. Now, she is on the path to recovery and can see the beauty in the little things in life!
Carissa believes in the importance of being kind to everyone because you never know if someone may be struggling.
