Meet Delaney Sprague, a Xavier University student who is sharing her story of living with anxiety, depression and borderline ADHD behaviors. She remembers having anxious feelings since she was a child, especially when it comes to swimming competitively. Her fear of failure in competing began to expand into other aspects of her life. After opening up about her experience, her RA recommended that she go to Xavier’s Wellness Center. Now, she is working on finding things to be grateful for and acknowledging her thoughts and emotions. She also thinks it’s important to make others feel comfortable and confident in their thoughts and feelings and believes that the more people talk about their vulnerabilities, the easier it will be to stop the stigma around mental health.
