Erin is 21 years old and a senior at Ohio University studying journalism news and information. Erin lives with major depression, generalized anxiety and a panic disorder as well as suicidal ideation; she is also a year and a half clean from self-harm. As an advocate for mental health awareness and practical self-care, she is the social media manager for Active Minds at Ohio University, an organization on campus dedicated to mental health awareness. She is also a staff writer at The Post, OU’s independent news outlet. She likes to relieve stress by writing, reading and watching scary movies.
